Job Description
    The Vice President of Architecture is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing architectural operations, design strategies, and project execution within the Alabama market. This role ensures high-quality design, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. The VP will lead a team of architects and designers, foster client relationships, and drive business development initiatives to expand the firm & presence in Alabama. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Business Development: Develop and implement architectural strategies that align with the company’s vision and growth goals in Alabama. Lead business development efforts, including client outreach, proposal development, and market expansion. Identify opportunities for new projects and partnerships while strengthening existing client relationships. Collaborate with the executive leadership team to set financial goals and performance metrics. Architectural Oversight & Project Management: Provide leadership and technical expertise on architectural projects, ensuring innovation, efficiency, and design excellence. Oversee the development and execution of design concepts, feasibility studies, and master plans. Ensure projects adhere to budget, timeline, and quality expectations while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Guide teams in resolving complex architectural and construction challenges. Travel 20-30%
Qualifications
    Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (or related field). Registered Architect (RA) license required; Alabama licensure preferred or ability to obtain. Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Strong portfolio showcasing architectural design and project leadership experience. Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and drive business development. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills. Preferred Skills & Attributes: Experience in commercial, institutional, or mixed-use architectural projects. Knowledge of sustainable design and LEED certification is a plus. Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets. Passion for innovation and advancing architectural practices.
Experience & Knowledge
    Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and manage a team of architects, designers, and project managers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Support professional development initiatives, training, and licensing for the architectural team. Oversee recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent to the Alabama division. Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all projects meet applicable zoning, building codes, and sustainability standards. Stay current with industry regulations, best practices, and emerging architectural trends. Maintain quality control processes to guarantee design integrity and compliance.
